The Horatio Lion video series is the culmination of in-depth research with both children and their parents. Susan and Edmund wanted to create videos that responded to the desires of the parents and the interests of children. They designed educational segments around the information found in their research and then focus group tested the videos with children and parents. Based upon the results of the focus groups, they then refined the videos with the goal of creating truly educational and entertaining videos.

Horatio Lion - Volume 1 showcases Horatio who is joined by three children. Together they guide viewers through a series of interactive skill-building segments. Concepts covered include: waving hi and bye, clapping, colors, numbers, shapes, animals, day, night, rain, snow, blocks, fruit, balloons, and dancing.

In Volume 2, Horatio continues to teach new concepts to children in an interactive and entertaining way. Horatio is once again joined by the children that participated in Volume 1 and is joined by more friends. New topics covered in Volume 2 include: transportation (car, plane and train), bath time, nap time, eating, cleaning up, musical instruments, what animals say, counting to 10 (counting and quantity concepts are taught), alphabet, telephone, can you tell me where your head is? (eyes, toes …) jumping, flowers growing in the garden, colors, waving hi and bye.
